Last updated September 2026. This policy is a draft for Word of Life to review before launch.
Word of Life Fellowship Ltd (ABN 29 000 987 717), trading as Word of Life Australia, respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and how we look after it, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- When you give: your name, title, email, phone number, postal address, church or organisation (optional), the gift amount, frequency and designation, any message you include, and whether you’d like to hear from us.
- When you join the newsletter: your name and email address.
- Payments: card details are collected and processed by Stripe. Word of Life never sees or stores your card number.
- Website use: standard server logs (such as IP address and pages visited) used to keep the site secure.
- Video: on larger screens our home page plays a background video hosted by YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may collect information about your device when the video plays, under Google’s privacy policy.
How we use it
- To process your gift, send your receipt and keep accurate financial records.
- To tell the missionary or ministry team about your support, where appropriate.
- To send the newsletter or ministry updates, only if you’ve asked for them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To answer your questions and keep this website secure.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the ministry (such as Stripe for payments and our email and website hosting providers), or where the law requires it. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or to stop receiving emails, by contacting the office on (02) 6559 6775 or [email protected]. If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first; if you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Events and registrations
Event registrations are handled by our separate events site, events.wol.org.au, which has its own terms and privacy information.
